Susan -
I know Jim Caldwell, who's the retired oboe prof at Oberlin. He was principal in the National Philharmonic and is particularly interested in the baroque oboe. His wife, Kathy Meints, is 3rd chair cello in the Cleveland Orchestra and one of the top viola da gamba players in the world. He runs the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin each year in late June and early July, which I go do, mostly as a recorder player, but also on baroque oboe and early clarinet. You should look into going.
Best regards.
