While I have thrown away cracked reeds for years, I have lately been putting a drop of super glue on the crack. The glue goes in the crack and the excess is wiped off outside and inside. After it is dry, the area around the crack can be touched with the knife a little and the inside can be sanded with a small bit of fine sandpaper. Some seem to recover and some are a little less responsive, but it may be fun to try. Good luck!
