I wonder if any of you have had the same experience. I go to great pains to make sure that when I sound the tuning A, that I've checked ahead of time to make sure my reed plays comfortably at A=440 and that I can start the A at that pitch without having to adjust. The problem is that some of the other woodwind player behave as though the reference pitch is a complete surprise, playing a very out-of-tune, very loud A in response, moving the pitch up and down, and sometimes hanging over (loud and out-of-tune) after I've finished.
What's the remedy for this, or do I just have to live with it?
