At concerts and in TV broadcasts of the NY Philharmonic, I always see Tom Stacy playing oboe in any piece where the oboes are doubled. The roster shows only three oboists http://nyphil.org/meet/orchestra/index.cfm?page=section§ionNum=15, so Tom has to be there as #4.
What I was trying to say is that every cor anglas player also has to play oboe, and that no one can make a living playing only cor anglais (and still less the oboe d'amour).
