You'll find more work as an oboist than you will as a clarinettist as there are far fewer oboists than flautists and clarinettists.
Get a good grounding on oboe then add cor anglais later on, and if you want to specialise in deep oboes then go onto oboe d'amore and even bass oboe as well.
I only took up oboe so I could do cor, and I've had more orchestral work playing cor than oboe - not a problem as I prefer playing cor.
