It depends on how smooth - the Brahms is best done rolling rather than lifting.

But it depends on how your top fingerplate is set up - in the UK we normally have the top fingerplate adjusted so it barely moves (but moves a tiny amount - less than a hair's breadth) so C# is only playable as oxx|xxxC# and not as an open note (ooo|ooo) so lifting LH 1 will have a slightly different resistance (less) than rolling LH 1 down onto the lug soldered to the plate to uncover the aperture. But the amount of opening on the top plate depends on the size of the diamond-shaped aperture, so a large diamond (as in Bundys) will mean the top plate is screwed pretty much closed. But it's something individual to each player and they ought to know how to set it up so it's right for them (same applies to the adjustment of RH fingerplate 2 in relation to the low C key).
