I've been hitting my Saint-Saens 3rd mvt pretty hard and I tried the "finger drop" on that middle to low d and I just hate that "blurp" sound of lifting my finger and dropping it again. It doesn't make a clean slur.

So on all major solos do you guys do this finger drop? For instance the Brahms 1st mvt the first big solo starting on G-Ab-G-B-G-C-G-Eb-G, do you do the finger drop on the Eb to G? Do you get away with it? It seems like you'd get yelled at. (I can already hear Mr. Mack chewing the hell out of me for "cheating" as he would put it.)
