Doesn't the Yamaha 441 still lack the articulated C-C#, making it the equivalent of a Fox 333?

Google "Evoluzione oboe" and you will find some oboists that play Patricola. That oboe is prominently advertised in the double reed journal.

Bulgheroni is the source for the oboes Mark Chudnow finishes. The MCW oboe. Peter Hurd notes that this oboe brand is on par with Loree and Covey (sourced from Peter Hurd's website section on brands http://oboes.us/resources/makers.html )

(Peter Hurd didn't think anything special on Patricola though...)

Do make sure the teacher reviews the oboes being chosen and that both the daughter and teacher decide on the best oboe together. The teacher can pinpoint abnormalities your daughter may not notice, till too late.

Although... I have had my own teacher dismiss abnormalities as being caused by me that could be solved by embouchure focus... which was more readily fixed by an oboe tech.

Oh! On the third octave key... a well made oboe should be able to play easily in the stratosphere without a third octave key. It is REALLY nice to have fingering-wise, but I have read that it may not necessarily function well on the 4052. That is something that is easily tested in person though and it may just be rumor floating about the IDRS list.
