In the first video - Gabriel's Oboe it sounds as if the reed is stiff .. that the tip is less flexible in relation to the entire reed. Now of course I am speaking about an American Long Scraped reed here.

You need to find a good balance between the tip and the rest of the reed to get a full round tone with less of an edge to the sound..... and not have the tip to thick or to thin in relationship to the heart and with the proper proportions within the tip itself.
