I guess I'd just as well answer the question on channel. The channel is in between the rails (sides) and the spine. The windows are scraped out in the rear channel area. I think however the difference is the channel is the area that extends the length of the reed, and the windows are a part of the scraped reed in the back. Any other posters correct me if I'm wrong.
