Great Pics .... We should all post pics when discussing reeds!
The read tip .. heart blend is where I usually adjust for response on the lower register and the blend towards the tip for response in the upper register. I find this area tricky to find the balance between response and tone.
I also noticed (as per the picture) that the sides of the blend tip are more tapered rather than a more clearer delineation - for me this configuration causes my reeds to be sharp in the upper register while a more delineated side blend/tip does the opposite.
