All good discussion and I really liked Cooper's info of Weber Vs. Schuring scrapes.
The difference where the concavity comes into play seems to be really important to me.
Softer cane seems to need the Weber concavity, especially to the sides of the tip and heart integration. Harder cane tolerates the more gradual taper all around and then the reeds tend to have more useful life in them.
Good descriptions Cooper. My 2 hertz worth....
