Regarding the Loree top-joint cracks, do you think that living in Denver is a factor? I would imagine that the extremes of both moisture and temperatures in Denver would exacerbate any tendency for the wood to crack, regardless of make.
That said, I remember reading somewhere that there is more of a tendency for newer Lorees to crack, though I expect only a well-run long-time repair shop with carefully kept records could make a true judgment call here.
Have you owned a Laubin without a liner? Did this crack? Any other make?
