Hello,

I would absolutely advice you to use the original fingerings for this figure, as vboboe points out. You will probably come across even trickier corners in that key in the orchestra literature, so the sooner you learn it the better.

My slow fingers always need extra work when it comes to these keys; for me it would certainly help to leave the right hand fingers (all of them!) gripping the d-flat fingering when playing the c-natural. This way you only have to wiggle the left hand when playing the d-flat - c-natural - d-flat. Maybe this will make it easier to play the e-flat - d-flat bits?
