Re: Frustrated question about tempo, metronome, and playing a gruppetto

i'm still mystified / unclear about this C# ?

Gekeler's version is written in C and F key signatures -- Barret's??

<<D2 (gruppetto) F2-B2 >>

This is what Gekeler's got, key signature no sharps or flats and no sharp or flat above or below the gruppetto sign itself to change the upper or lower note of the turn by a semitone either way

... seems like we're not interpreting the turns the same way or by the same rules, or there are several types of turns and Gekeler is presenting the simplest, or is there some mix-up with other ornamentations?

Gekeler's explanation of gruppetto in preface notes uses the sign between an example of F2 & A2, both undotted notes, and the turn begins after the F is played, on the note above F2 (G2), then play F2, next play note below F2 (E2), play F2 again, then moves on to A2 -- this would be the form to use on undotted notes in the Minuet (Gek's other example is for a turn following a dotted note, not applicable here)

So in the Minuet, key signature no sharps or flats, with the turn sign between D2 & F2, undotted notes, the first note of the turn would be the note above F (G), then F, then the note under F (E), then F again, then drop the Fifth to B last note of the bar (which would follow the melodic interval) -- but some are saying put C# in there somewhere instead ? Where? Why? How?

A simple turn is like a 'figure 8' around any specified note (in tone/semi-tone sequence of key signature, unless modified by sharps or flats on the turn sign) and the turn sign is placed just in front of the specified note to turn a figure 8 on ...?
