Yeah, I know, but it sounds better to me, somehow, to have it be a C#. I played recorder in high school, although I never got into the arcane discipline of Baroque ornamentation, but I listened to a lot of 18th century music along the way (Telemann, etc.), and somehow the C# sounds...right. And the C doesn't. Go figure.

Er, I'd really have to differ with you on your interpretation of "not actually that fast" (bearing in mind that time, of course, is relative). On the online metronome, 228 isn't even on the scale, being past 208 which is marked "Prestissimo". And dotted half = 76 seems to clip along a lot faster than I recall a minuet needing to go. You're supposed to be able to dance gracefully to it in a hoopskirt and a two-foot tall hairdo, but anybody trying to trip the light fantastic at Prestissimo is only going to trip, I'm thinking. ![[grin]](http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/smileys/smilie5.gif)
