She's not selling on eBay anymore, just via her website. I've gotten reeds from her and they are very nice. Be sure to tell her it's for a child, and that he needs them as soft as she can get them. Handmade reeds in my experience tend to run a bit harder than the mass-produced ones, because the people making them are making reeds to suit their own mature embouchures, which tend to tolerate a harder reed.
Carrie, if he's still having trouble getting sound out of the Medium Softs--if you're still hearing nothing but air whooshing through the reed--that means that Medium Soft is still too hard for him, and he needs a Soft.
And you go, "What? More reeds?" Well, this is what I meant, about amassing a reed collection. Rinse them off, let them dry, and put them away; he'll use them eventually.
