As for soaking reeds, I took a film container and with duct tape (camoflogue was the choice of my son) taped a strong magnet to the container. He now can put the container on his music stand or even on the pole to get it out of the way. When it's empty an unused it, it lives on my refer. I made another for school too. Finding the strong magnet was the hard part, mine came in the lid of a cardboard box that a wallet was sold in. The lid of the film container is water tight so he can travel to school with fresh water for the day.
