"i guess i would suggest that the C crow should be viewed as the product of reedmaking evolution - i.e. over time, the standard staple (47mm), target reed length (69-71), and shaper dimensions (approx. 7mm at tip), have converged on this standard probably through trial and error and trying to achieve the optimal sound...i'm not smart enough to understand if a C crow goes with a C instrument or whether that's just a total coincidence...as for the actual physics, PhD thesis anyone?"
