Hey! (Guess I'll introduce myself a bit) I recently found these forums and I'm a freshman in high school. Ever since playing oboe in the middle of 6th grade I've wondered how the professionals achieve such a rich tone and sound (which I recently found out it was called vibrato). From much scarring of ridicule in band of sounding like a duck, I've since been crazy on being in tune and anything along the lines of that.
Main question here: How do I achieve that sort of sound or, in this case, 'vibrato'? Do I need to get private lessons or try making my own reeds? I'm not very good IMO but I do like to try and get better. I don't really have a preference towards what kind of sound I want to give out, so anything would be helpful!
Comments or thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
