Re: How do I find out about a Larilee? Also ideas for new student?

"He suggested that, with dry Minnesota winters, we buy a humidifier."

My teacher is from Minnesota, though she bought her Marigaux oboe over here in the UK and took it back to Minnesota with her before returning to the UK where she still resides.

But she told me when she took it out to Minnesota, during the winter the top joint split down both sides during her solo in 'L'apres midi d'un faun' with a loud ripping sound - it looks like it's been caught up in machine gun fire with all the filled holes where it's been pinned, but it's still the same top joint and is still perfectly playable.

The opinions I express are my own.
