So much for the idea of the oboe stand --

I like the idea of standing it up in a corner. Part of the attraction for me in Anne not being in Band for 8th grade is that she has one more year of growing up before she hauls the oboe back and forth to school.

We got the oboe into the repair shop. The repair guy helped me with purchase of the clarinet for Anne and a trombone for my son. He repaired it today so we can pick it up tomorrow.

Any suggestions on care of the oboe? The repair guy said that eagle feathers have been a common way, but he's had to get lots of feathers out of oboes so he doesn't advocate for that.

My daughter probably spent five hours over the weekend playing the oboe. She got the first three books of the Standards of Excellence series. She is really delighted. I just love seeing the sparkle in her eyes.
