Re: Reed Slipping wrong way problem

Joshua +2 tip -- though I have been experimenting with a +4 of the same tip. NOt enough difference in my oppinion to cause this, but if someone has any thoughts....bring em on! :-)

I am tying tightly -- as soon as I tie, I do indeed do some scraping and clip the tip, and set the overlap (or have been trying, like I say :-))

I'm using Sierra tubes -- no beeswax. I have never used it nor have any of my teachers -- never felt that it was necessary for my reeds.

The cane for the most part is very straight and the grains are not diagnonal. Generally straight cane with straight grains -- though a few have come up with slightly diagonal grain -- though ironically, these are not the ones that are slipping the wrong way.

This is very puzzling -- I just did two more reeds, did the same thing I always do, and one slipped the wrong way, and one the correct way. I was meticulous (I seem to like that work) about the overlap being correct.

ugh!
