Thank you (all of you) for responding to my message. I can see what a valuable resource this board can be.
I was hoping there was something that could be done with the Loree (I don't think I'd be as lucky on ebay again) but I was afraid it wasn't a fixable problem; now I have hope. I have a great woodwind repair person but his "playing" specialty is bassoon so I'd probably want to confer with an oboist; I live in the San Francisco bay area so I am sure there are probably many well qualified people that can help me.
Repositioning my hand with respect to the oboe might well help a bit on the right. I may also go for a Loree adjustable thumb rest as my right third finger was even more problematic than the left until i got my new oboe. Now they are both behaving badly. The Kooiman I could use on my student oboe but would have needed to drill new holes in the Loree so never tried it there.
Thanks again and if any of you know a good oboist who can work with me on this type of issue and is based out of the San Francisco area: please let me know. I should get a guide for my reentry into oboe world in any case. I still have my old Barrett Oboe method so I'm ready to start. Again.
Amy
