It might be possible to get the little finger keys extended or replaced with longer ones by someone clever like Chris P ('cept he is in England!). You don't want to be over stretching. I also play recorder and on the tenor I was always conscious that the right hand was painful. Problem was solved when a helpful child borrowed my recorder and snapped the thumb rest off. As it turned out that was exactly what I needed (child needs a clip round the ear, but then so does his mother -what can you do?!) as the thumb rest was in the wrong place, I didn't need it to take weight (plastic recorders don't weigh much) and now I put my thumb in the right place without even thinking about it! As it is your left hand that is causing trouble there is not a great deal you can do about the thumb position. Although perhaps you could get those keys extended instead of the little finger keys......guess it would depend on where your index finger falls as that is the one which has to do a lot of shuffling about. Have you tried a couple of lessons with a really good teacher to see if there is some easy and obvious adjustment you could make? Or perhaps make a youtube video of your hands playing so we can all see them! I wouldn't have to faintest idea on how to do this, but I am sure someone on here will know.
