It'd have the same range as a normal oboe (if built to exactly the same keywork spec), but sounds a semitone higher than the standard C oboe - like a Bb clarinet is to an A clarinet.
Then again, a Bb oboe would also be good (at the same pitch as a soprano sax), but there are noticeable differences - soprano saxes are much cheaper to buy, and MUCH easier to play!
