Hey Chris,
It's nice to see your human side...you're the oboe guru! It couldn't have been *THAT* bad. Hey, keep your head up.... There are going to be many great concerts in your future so keep at it, put it all behind you and stay focused.
It seems every time I try to play for my friends and family (been at this for a year and a half now), my reed magically closes up and my embouchure turns to steel. I'm still not at the point where I can play in public and hope to overcome those nerves. The best I've done so far is made audio recordings for them to hear, night and day difference....
I'm sure there are many stories oboists on this board can share. Would love to hear others stories, too.
