Hard without pictures to describe things, isn't it?
Think of different bits and pieces that assemble into the bottom of the tin
Piece of card
piece of lining fabric (probably same nap fabric as used for ribbon) and cut larger so can fold cut ends under the card
Ribbon of desired length
Attach the ribbons in loops one by one to this lining fabric = "lining" material "under the ribbon"
Then wrap fabric over card and tuck/secure ends underneath before putting into tin
Agree velvet ribbon looks nicer for reed case carried with oboe, but Ken's suggestion is the perfect solution i've been needing to fit up a tin used only for blanks, where what matters is function more than beauty, thanKS!
