Here's another name to add to your list: Hiniker. This is an oboe made by Tom Hiniker, somewhere in the Pacific Northwest of the American continent.
First time I heard about this was on Peter Hurd's site (http://www.oboes.us). I don't know more than that.
As for the Covey, they do sell used oboes, too (Covey and others). Check out the Covey site http://www.oboes.com/welcome.html. The folks at Covey are very good about taking phone calls and working with you. Let them know what you are looking for. They are in Atlanta, GA.
Midwest Musical Imports is a big dealer in Minneapolis http://www.mmimports.com that usually has lots of Lorees, as well as used oboes of various stripes.
Marti Hess at http://www.usedoboes.com has a large selection of used instruments in good condition, and will let you try them. She's near Philadephia, PA.
My teacher deals with RDG Woodwinds, and thinks highly of them: http://www.rdgwoodwinds.com/. This is also a bricks-and-mortar store in Los Angeles.
Where do you live? Do I remember it was Canada? Don't know about Canadian sites. Maybe GMac could help you here?
