... i'm wondering if it's worthwhile considering eurpoean made oboes when looking for full conservatory lightly used instrument as a step up oboe from yamaha 441, i'm finding upper register just isn't rich enough on this one, sing-songy, ah so?
... other than lorees made specifically for over here, are other european made oboes sold in the North American market made specifically to centre well at A440 or do they favour the slightly sharper 442-445 acceptable over there? Yes, reed and embouchure can adjust, surely more work if their pipes are designed at even scale pitch with sharper A? Like reeds i tend to blow sharper with age so it matters a lot if the pipe is 'sharp' or not
... what european makes (other than Le grand L) sound particularly good over here?
