I've only had the chance to try the purple, green, and blue professional. I liked how the purples played best and found the green a bit shoddily made in that it was overly soft, had ill intonation, and on top of that the reed was badly tied onto the staple. I never bothered with the Greens again to see if it was a fluke, but the purple has been consistant. I expected more from the blue since the purple was only $9 and the blue was around $17.
I'll certainly give the silver a whirl though.
I'm really loving getting reeds that are playable in tune when I open the package... which is such a rare occurance with store bought stuff where you have to try and adjust it just to bring some notes in tune... sometimes I get a perfect reed and sometimes it goes in the trash.
In the grand scheme of things $15 for a reed that is play tested before being sent out is so much worth it than a bunch of en masse reeds for $8-9 that you have to chuck out. Saves so much money in the long run.
Regards,
Stephen
