Newer flutes, especially pro-level and Japanese flutes, are designed/manufactured at A=442. When I play my flute with an ensemble tuned to A=440, I have to pull the headjoint out a good quarter inch to play in tune with the others. Not sure if the group is aware of this. My oboe, in contrast, is a solid A=440.
