Am I just really unlucky...?

I bought a brand new Howarth S45c last September. Basically it has already cracked twice as well as the octave keys coming out of alignment, some bent key work and a persistent bubble under my A key. I realise the bent keys and the octave key are probably my own doing but I've always cared for my instrument as I was shown when I bought it. The reason I chose a Howarth was because I had watched my teacher's Marigaux crack 12 times and he had advised me that Howarth's were more resilient. Have I been unlucky in my choice? Should I complain to the maker? And most importantly is there anything I could have done because it's breaking my heart!
