Excellent ideas. But ...
All French-style clarinet mouthpieces (the ones universally played in the U.S. and non-German-speaking Europe) take exactly the same size reed.
Oboe reeds vary trememdously in width, profile and length.
It's expensive enough to tool up to make one size. Producing the multiple sizes required for oboe would be prohibitively expensive.
Not to mention that clarinetists outnumber oboists probably 10 to 1. And oboe is usually not played in marching band, where the biggest market for plastic reeds is.
Finally, the Legere plastic reeds can't be adjusted. Scrape or sand them and the fibers fluff up like cotton candy, ruining the reed. I speak from experience.
The upshot is, I'd be thrilled to have a Legere oboe reed as good as their clarinet reeds, but I don't expect to see them any time soon.
Best regards.
