... ah, of course, duh, pardon me ... thunk mah heat-addled too woody numb-skull ... if want to leave the oboe out on a day-to-day basis, why not use another option? ... an oboe peg to hold the oboe upright (minimum surface area to attract settling dust) and a dust cover (aka cozy)

they are amazingly expensive, one can't help but pause on that ... one site mentions seamless liner made of silver-cleaning cloth on the inside, but others don't mention those details and are just as pricey ...

Seems to me sewing skills, a bit of fitting savvy, lint-free fabric and low static attraction to dust (rules out silk) could make a nice dust cover quite economically ... ?

It's the wood peg that's got me stumped ... {;-}
