I just read a very recent article in Discover magazine (topic: science) about Leonardo da Vinci and the Golden ratio. Surely there is generally available source material in music about a 'Golden' musical relationship, if it exists. I wouldn't be surprised if some of it weren't quite detailed, also quite old. If the application to music could be ascertained, then the principles might extend into our topic in some useful way.
I've been to Leonardo's grave (in chateau Blois, as I recall). I was surprised at being somewhat moved. It is in a garret, not the chapel. I wonder if he had applied himself to instrument design, the shawm, for example . . . .
