Let me guess -- there are guitars involved in this piece, no? The key signatures for wind players can be brutal when it's basically written for guitar.

As far as your "six notes in one beat" goes, what is the time signature?
If it's something like 3/8 or 6/8, those are just like eighth notes would be in 4/4 time.

If it's in 4/4 (probably not, but who knows), these would be "double triplets". Just think of triplets, with two rather than one pulse on each note of the triplet.

It's the kind of figure one sometimes sees as a lick on beat four, leading into the next downbeat.
