We tried soaking reeds; it makes them very flat and almost impossible to get good response out of them. Usually I'll stick them in my mouth for about 2 minutes before I play, and the response will be a little shaky until I get warmed up; then it's fine..
I was told you shouldn't soak your reeds at all because it'll cause the cane to warp...
Oy, I'm confused.
