this subject is some what confusing since soaking will be taking place for its duration whether one places reeds in a container of water or when the reed is in one's mouth during playing. so if you soak the reed in container of water for say 3-5 minutes and play the reed for 30 minutes, the reed will be absorbing moisture until saturation, after which the reed will not be as responsive. Comments any one?
