To Cooper,
Thanks for your input. I will work on breathing and embouchure together these next few weeks. Since I double on woodwinds, I'm sure my embouchure on most instruments in "unconventional." It's good to know that there are exceptions to the rule. The embouchure notes have helped my comfort and playing, so I think a middle ground will be just what the doctor ordered. Thank you for the breathing notes. I think I will have to mark up my music for breathing while I learn what's best. Not something I'm used to, especially since the flute takes so much air.

I took a look at the video, and it does look like my shoulders are a bit tight. I checked my other videos against that one, and I'm happy that I don't feel I appear to be tight in my sax, clarinet, or flute videos (at least to myself, maybe it's just my look). The weight and angle of the oboe may take some time to get used to. That, or just nerves from being new to the instrument. Hopefully that will subside as I practice and perform more.
