German players play conservatiore system, either with semi automatic 8ves or fully automatic 8ves.
This is the problem in the UK - the majority of beginner oboes available are thumbplate system with simple 8ve keys (even ones made in Germany for the UK market), then the intermediate oboes are available in thumbplate (S20), conservatoire (S20c) or dual system (S20c+TP), but these are nearly £2000 which is a lot to spend on an oboe for a beginner.
Though for absolute beginners, there's a new basic model in both thumbplate and conservatoire http://howarth.uk.com/pic.aspx?pic=./wo/HowarthJuniorCon.jpg&pid=982949 which should be a start, though the only German spec intermediate oboe Howarth offer is the S40c Auto http://howarth.uk.com/pic.aspx?pic=./wo/HowarthS40Auto.jpg&pid=35123 but that's £2,800!
There were some fairly basic Buffet (Schreiber) oboes with fully automatic 8ves, built to low B and have no trill keys but did have a LH F key.
Probably the best thing to do is contact Die Holzbläser in Berlin to see what oboes they recommend for beginners http://www.holzblaeser.com/site.html, or they could put you in contact with teachers who could help.
Seeing that Albrecht Mayer plays oboes with semi-auto 8ves, I can't see why other German players can't http://www.albrechtmayer.com/
