I believe that he has been able to bring his problem under sufficient control, through various forms of therapy, that he can play for reasonable durations without much problem; apparently, he felt that the problem was incompatible with the exacting demands of a major symphony orchestra (no tolerance for error and huge number of hours)...I can't remember where I read this but he has been very open about it.
Btw, James, I thought the exclamation mark on your topic heading unspokenly implied "IS God", but that would get us started all over again!
