To James,

I met Julian briefly last year when the NYO did a concert at Malvern Theatres. Yes, Johnny is very good at the oboe- I know his playing very well since I am his principal :-)

He got sent a tape of the Regional Final of Young Musician- have you seen it? I haven't seen mine yet; reminds me I must contact the BBC about sending it to me. However, that's probably not important as they will be showing me on the TV in May in the woodwind final.

Literally just finished a rehearsal on the Mozart Quartet. I recon the 2nd movement is his peak! Also love the Britten Phantasy and the Finzi. Want to play everything really...
