Elaine Duvas is one of the principals in the Metropolitan Opera orchestra. In the summer she plays and teaches in Aspen. Her playing is highly regarded in America, and I have enjoyed attending many Met performances in which she played. As for Jessye Norman, I get a different type of "chills" when I think of her. She sang that very same Wagner work with the orchestra in which I was principal, and she would certainly have impressed me greatly with her singing but for the fact that her rude behavior towards us in rehearsal made us all extremely uncomfortable.
I always have found it difficult to incorporate fluidly a new fingering, and especially multi-phonic ones, in a short period of time (such as one rehearsal week). It is impressive that you have learned a number of them all at once.
