Help ... i need a 'newbie' coping strategy!
OK, so what are the 'hottest tips' on bar numbers? or finding one's way to where the conductor wants to pickup again to do over?
Annotated bars in community band music is Pablum compared to this community orchestra stuff i'm doing now, yes there are Rehearsal Letters, and a few bar numbers pencilled in here and there on some of my copies, but ... generally speaking, there are wide open spaces over many staves with nary a number, and it's a real challenge to find one's place again when called to do over, especially with new-to-this-community-orchestra young conductor-in-training, and i'm new at this as well ...
what do you folks do about bar numbers? Do you annotate your copies with bar numbers just for OB entries? Count all the bars and number by 5's & 10's, or just put in numbers at the beginning of every stave?
Or ... ?
Thanks
