I like La Tromba cork grease as it pretty much retains it's viscosity when it's hot, unlike the lipstick greases that melt and ooze into the case fabric! I've been using La Tromba cork grease for over 20 years and still think it's hard to beat.
Cork grease should be pretty stodgy stuff, but easy to spread thinly and evenly on the tenon corks.
