Well, my "main man" is my Yamaha, Gulliver, as detailed above.
But I do have another little old Linton oboe, and she is definitely a girl. But she doesn't have a name. She is a sad looking little lady, apparently having been snatched from a fire, or left on the back window of someone's car, or something, because she came to me with bubbles and pits all over her plastic. And her lower joint (r.h. notes) has a prosthesis of some sort -- her original material has been cut off just below the F# and replaced (rather expertly) with some other (newer?) sort of black plastic.
However, having withstood all this, everything she's got still works (she doesn't have l.h. F, but does have low B/Bb). She still plays pretty well, and would probably play even better if I were to buy her an adjustment session at the oboe chiropractors.
So I think she needs a name. Any ideas?
