... thanks for responses thus far, plenty to think about and mull over, still not crystal clear on anything just now, except i've decided to break indecision by moving in direction of tuning new reeds with A-C-E-G, not F-A-C-E at least for now, what think you there?
... as for all the other ideas brought up, i'm beginning to suspect that other oboists aren't crystal clear on reeds either, which is news to me, i thought ye'd all 'arrived' at some reliably concrete understanding, and i was the one who didn't get it yet, although i'll revise that to 'in different areas of understanding reeds'
