At least our altissimos can never be as vulnerable as our clarinet playing colleagues eh? >=) Try what vboboe mentioned. Other than that, being a grade 7 Royal school candidate i am sure you are being over critical about yourself. Don't be shy to take in a little bit more reed for those awkward altissimos. Check your pitch a tuner too. With a 3rd octave key they aint really as bad as you think. Do ask your friends to comment on how you sound up there. Do a lot of 2 octave f major scales. I am sure you don't sound as bad as you think. =)
