Quick update.
My teacher had to go to Canada unexpectedly to play for two weeks, so oboe lessons are on hold...although I've been playing around on it a bit for 5 minutes or so each day, just for fun...and it *has* been fun! (I'm closely following the directions and pictures in the books and I don't think I'll develop any unbreakably bad habits before she gets back.)
But the keyboard/reading is coming along fine, faster than I expected, actually. I guess this stuff does "come back"...! Thanks again to Dutchy for a very practical suggestion.
And d-oboe...I'm fighting those feelings!!
